At midnight finding out the rail possession you have is actually 2 hours to do a 6 hour job removing leggy, bendy willows in the wind and rain that overhang the 25,000V overhead lines (isolated) that cannot be touched. Then one of the big lamps runs out of batteries. Then one of the rail guys complaining loudly that it's taking too long even though he has never touched a chain saw let alone a harness. Then walking the mile back to the van in the rain that stops as you open the door.

Friday mornings are the easy bit, its monday that does it for me

Motorway clearance is one of the hardist jobs I have done with many feet of dence continous blackthorn thorn towering above you and tearing you to bits as you are on the cutting or on dragging At the speed of sound . By the end of the day you land up bleeding with deep scratches half way up both arms and many many of the thorns having found a new home within your hands and arms .

 

Ivy removal is a complete treat compared to the above
