Worked in richmond park for 4 years and have to say that it was a common occourance. There are some very nice and considerate dog owners but there were also some complete imbeciles! Couldnt control there dogs and left their plastic bags full of crap hanging from branches or discarded in the bracken. And as for the proffessional (and i use the term very loosely) dog walkers, dont get me started.

If that was my deer I would have shot the dog.

It is funny though

and if I was a dog owner with no control over my dog I would not hold it against you, for that is the law of the land.

irresponsible behaviour is not the dogs fault though, but its a fair law of the land and we enter grounds with stock at that risk.

I was working for a lady the other day who'd just been walking her dogs in Richmond Park. She was despairing of the behaviour of people there round the rutting deer; getting between stags and intended hinds with their cameras, creeping round the back of stags etc.

Let's just hope that when someone gets injured the stag doesn't cop the blame.
