but are there any trees that far north?

I've only been up that way a couple of times and its very barren and bleak.

Think there is one or two on here possibly further north than Inverness , would be interesting to know what trees actually flourish up there if any.

The south is getting 45mph gusts inland tonight so will be heading to the office tomorrow to check the messages. Got a volunteer task tomorrow which will be good fun with the wind. Got some willows to pollard and they havent been done for 30 years +.

certainly blowing hard here now... all the leaves are off the trees and we have already had a couple of good storms her this year, there will probably not be much left to blow down.

where i live has done a lot of forestry recently, in last 3 weeks. one clearfell area backing onto other blocks and a mile long drive had a lot of thinning done on both sides - roll on the blown trees and my firewood heap getting stocked up, plenty of silver firs to drop tops so happy days!

We have no beech nuts or conkers this year due to the storm in May, blew every leaf of all the trees on our coast.

Its certainly windy here now .

can't be doing with a storm, I am going a wee day trip tomorrow and too busy during the week :)
