ahhhh, it is refreshing to see other climbers discovering the advantages to climbing on the rope wrench :) long live King Kevin Bingham! ;) ;)

like most of the people who try it, i have long left DdRT behind and it never comes out of my kit, not for prunes, cables, inspections, cat rescues or removals; now? it is all rope wrench/SRT... 100% of the time.

I got me one of these wrope wrenches last week but still not had a chance to use it!

Does it work ok with a spiderjack or is it better with a lockjack?

I will probably start with a friction hitch, but I have a spiderjack already so if it will go with that I might try it that way too.

Ooh shiny things, I'm tempted to get a rope wrench to add to my ever growing collection of shiny things, on a serious note I would like to see how well it works with a hitch.

Hi Rupe,

I've read on the buzz the brake gets in the way off a spiderjack, not got round to trying it myself as I'm still testing the Lockjack system thoroughly.

Paul,

Works really well except when ascending i tend to place my hand below the hitch rather than on the Wrench as i do with the Lockjack.

So, overall, LJ seems to be the best option, hitch second, and spiderjack not really?
