Tether needs a bit of fettling to keep the wrench from dropping into neutral on ascent but other than that I like it. This one is a 250mm x 13mm DMM dyneema QuickDraw with retainer.

Stainless split rings are threaded into both eyes to clip an elastic into for tending.

Not quite as smart as Adam's tethers but will do for now :001_smile:

I made this tether up the other day. Yet to use it in anger but I rarely climb SRT. Seemed to work ok in principle.

Just made from an eye to eye I spliced ages ago. Doubled over, stitched and shrinkwrapped.

Looks like it could do with being a couple of inches longer IMO. Do you not find the rw is too close to the hitch?

Cheers.

When the hitch is tied right it's fine, it's 'collapsed' in the first photo Rich :001_smile:

Pop a band-it, like are used on carabiners up there at the top and that will give it a little spring. Getting it to stay out of neutral really makes a nice tether.

That's what I was thinking.... On my previous 30cm version the shrink went higher and locked it all up nicely, I just cocked this one up to be honest!

May still cut the shrink off and do it again yet.....

Here's my new tether. I stitched two thin metal rods into the sling to ensure its rigid as the sling is exposed where I've placed the shackle.

Thought I'd share my ROBO-Tether :P

I ran it today and it was fantastic, no slop what so ever, easy to take on and off and i reckon just as heavy as any other tether out there.

Very nicely done! It appears to be adjustable in length which is nice option.
