There have been a few wacky splitters doing the rounds in this section of the forum recently, manual and hydraulic. Here's a jaws of life type splitter - possibly a modification of an emergency service piece of kit.

I'm so glad he's in his "safety sandals", would not want him to hurt himself!!

 

Looked very slow to me, that sycamore would slit easily and quicker with an axe.

That would be ideal for splitting big rings in half so we can lift them. The machine would be very light as it looks mostly alloy. Would need to be cheap as I am a skin flint. :001_smile:
