Jaws of life splitter

There have been a few wacky splitters doing the rounds in this section of the forum recently, manual and hydraulic. Here's a jaws of life type splitter - possibly a modification of an emergency service piece of kit.

Looked very slow to me, that sycamore would slit easily and quicker with an axe.

Would be handy for splitting trunks in half before there billeted up but i got a 268 with a ripping chain on for that . Good idea for the right application . Good find

That would be ideal for splitting big rings in half so we can lift them. The machine would be very light as it looks mostly alloy. Would need to be cheap as I am a skin flint.
