The only times I have heard of people cutting their foot wear it when they are wearing chainsaw boots :sneaky2:

I havent worn chainsaw boots for more years than I care to remember, Hitec Magnums all the way :thumbup1:

very true, i confess to having nicked my boots twice in the tree, both times down to bad practise and being cocky as i had chainsaw boots on, very much more careful without them!

what did we wear 30 years ago, before ballistics and saw boots?, was it really that dangerous, or shock, horror, did we actually use that strang idea of common sense and not actually put ourselfs in a risky situation where if the saw kicked back it would hit any part of our body, seem to remember being taught that saws were dangerous and to treat them with respect. PPE them days was a warm pair of overalls and a good pair of boots or wellies if it was wet, if you had to climb you wore what was best suited to the job, "dont" know how we ever survived.

How does everyone feel about about the big old orange chainsaw wellie boot ? its all i ever wear, but then again my feet are always on the ground, and for my own use only.

LOVE them....used to climb in them!!!!!!!

surprised to see how many people dont seem to be using chainsaw boots in a tree.

why not?

is it a comfort thing? or find you climb better without?

personally have never felt that it would make that much difference either way and cant be bothered to carry a change of boots for when i get on the ground - and I would likely forget or not bother to change back and forth.

Accidents happen.

i wear meindl air streams for everything, i love the stabillity they give. i have heard of people competing in comps in them. they are heavy but the grip is awesome and because the sole is so solid you can get purchase on a tiny part of the boot. but then again i wouldnt say no to a better boot that didnt have protection in them... i have a pair of winter ice climbing boots that would be awesome, but alas they are silver and bright yellow! and rather expensive! so they stay in the cupboard till it snows!
