Some very strange logics here!

If you were the customer, why on earth would you choose to buy a load of green logs when there are seasoned logs available from the same place at the same price?

No wonder you would not sell much green!

why would i want to sell them cheaper ?if you cant stand on the cash get out of the log job ,leave it to those that can :001_tt2:

The way I would look at it Johnny, is the green should not be less money, but the seasoned should be more!:sneaky2::thumbup1:

There has to be a cost saving when selling green/unseasoned firewood.

Green unseasoned - Get cord in today, start processing directly into delivery vehicle and selling tomorrow.

Seasoned - Get logs in today, process into vented bags (which are not cheap), stack in yard, cover, and wait a year for a return.

I refuse to sell unseasoned logs, that way there's no risk of anyone saying "Chris sells wet wood". There are plenty of other guys locally who pass off wet wood as seasoned (and that doesn't mean three months ie one season of the year, as another member on here thought) & I happily pick up their ex custom.

I can 'hand on heart' say that all my wood is dry when loaded & pick up a good bit of trade building log stores to keep it dry.

100% behind you on that one.

Expect more for Properly dried product - sell the benefits -

warn against the pitfalls of burning wet wood - especially to the new generation of stove owners -

we love them all!
