12mm Yale Imori? How did you find it, waiting on some splicing bits to come through and going to I've it a bash though I've only just learned 16 strand so gonna get a few more of those in first.

I know double braid is a different technique but have studied the tutorials that are about on the web, anyone got any tips or points of reference for how many and which strands for the taper?

Looking good there dean

If ever you want either to pop over or I could pop over there are lots of little bits that make it easier and quicker.

Well I certainly find it easier than when I first started:thumbup:

Got 2 to do but with a recently dislocated shoulder need to make the brain rather than the braun do the work:thumbup:

I generally do 5-4-5-4, and doing a stitch or two on your cross over helps too! also if using wire fids, taper when in the fid, i find it messy if you do it before

good luck:thumbup1:

i find just sticking 2 needles through the x over keeps it intact better than whipping it and also takes less time. wire fids all the way and put in the fid and then taper(personal preference there). i find doing the core in to cover bury and the cover into core bury the easier way round of doing it too.

Nice one Dean, good work bro.

I think you've lost me, you put two needles into the crossover and then leave them in, or is it just to hold the crossover in place temporarily??

Only done 16 strand so far and having watched double braid on YouTube I think I get the principles but not seen any reference to stitching or putting needles into the crossover...

sorry bro- yeah i just place 2 needles opposite each other through the x over. this stops any slippage whilst i faff about with the other bits of the process. when im running the bury home i remove the needles and continue milking 'til the x over is buried accordingly. some people tape the x over, some people stitch it-this is just quicker for me. hope thats cleared things up somewhat
