im using 13mm with blakes at the moment but thats how i learnt to climb. now im moving to newwer ideas.

same here, started to use a prussic too!!!

i want to lern the newer ideas but dont work with many folks that use them so its hard

i think you need a day of rec climbing to play around with some different setups. i just dont have time.

Kinda pointless me taking part in the poll as I don't even know what 3 strand is.

 

 

I started climbing on a VT, scared the **** out of me too. Only recently have I seen the benefits of using a blakes in some trees.

 

 

I did work with one guy who climbed on old XTC which was advanced rope for him, he did'nt even own a lanyard just used both ends of his rope. He never used slings either just tied a knot on everything. But by god he was fast and effcient!!!!

So I respect old school.

we have rescue training days every 6 months and part of that day is spent familiarising with everyone elses kit and also going over tips and trying new bits and bobs without having any work to do makes all the difference
