You can claim subsistence allowance if you are “overnighting” away from home.

 

Personally I follow my accountants advice, he says I should collect every receipt I can and it’s his job to decide which can be used for deductions.

Yes but it costs more to eat out than to eat at home, so you can claim the difference :001_tongue:

NOw if your buying for someone else, a future client then thats hospitality, that deductable!

Exactly what I was getting at.

You can not claim for a Chinese every Saturday though, this guy thought he was getting away with doing that but wasn't.

Get a good accountant and ask him any questions you have.

you can claim lunch! i think itis 2.50 a day you are allowed.also iclaim for my protienpowders and carb drinks. and my 2000 qiud gym i have.

You can claim for anything. If the inland revenue decide to investigate you, which is done on a random basis. they will go through every single expense with a fine tooth comb. All the crazy stuff will come back to bite you. Including any phone calls on a mobile business contract that can't be proven to be solely and wholly for the business.

I dont know what you can get away with in the uk,but i know a guy in the building trade that puts nerely ever thought the business.He put a washing machine thought the business as it washes his working cloths,He even puts dog food and vet bills thought as its ment to be a guard dog for his yard:001_smile: .

He has been getting away with it for the past 6 years
