Very old tech there. Can you imagine how much would you would go through!

Wood gasification boilers is where it's at IMHO.

We got a angus wood gasification boiler in the garage next to the house keeps us nice and cosy run it on all the off cuts and left overs out of the yard

I have one, I've been using this one for 8 years, its a Ruffle 150KW, I burn mostly green timber as its easier, as I just tip stuff straight from jobs next to it and throw it on.

 

It great having all the dirt and mess out side the house and boiling hot radiators in the house.

my grandparents farm house used to use one of these, its now heating a woodworking workshop, they get through a lot of wood but usefull in the right situation

we had a passat HO untill the chimie fell down it was a brillent thing as it had a huge door and you could put a hole fence post exctra, it got used for every thing including incerating dead calfs.

 

next door has just got one and i can say they have not changed they are burning waste wood chip in it.

i'm just looking into an angus machine (60KW) to replace an old farm 2000 machine, mainly so i can claim the grants with improved effeciancy over the farm 2000!! I take it you'd recommend them as a good brand to buy for simple trouble free operation?

I just had a 2 quotes one for 24k the other 13k for a 4 bedroom house will take to long to pay for its self in a small house.

I paid £800 for mine (SH) and plumbed it in myself.

At the stove trade show last June there was a guy was a guy from the US selling what looked like a small log cabin. It is a large burn box, maybe 1 cubic meter surrounded on 3 sides with a water jacket. Very highly insulated, feeding the property with insualted underground pipes.

 

You would refill it by the barrow full.
