If it had been me, I would have been polite and offered to go a collect the wood and give a refund if he was not 100% happy.

 

think he was quite polite myself... i have no time for idiots like that.... not anymore.. i'd a told him where he could shove each and every one of those logs...there are plenty of pratts out there and always will be... the more you pussy foot round them the worse they get...

I do think its unprofessional to start justifying my prices by saying others don't pay tax or any other comments that try to discredit my competition.

 

I concentrate on my business and sell my services based on my pluses, not the negatives of others.

forget being all nicey nice, this guy is only doing this for 1 reason, to get at you and hopefully cheaper logs If he was that upset he would of cancelled the cheque and called trading standards blah blah blah.

Go round first thing, 8am, knock the door and get your wood back and hand over the cheque.

Called the chap at 8am this morning, explained I wasnt happy having an unhappy customer and would like to offer to pick the logs up. He accepted my offer and said he thought it was best for both parties. Ok I said I'll be straight round if thats ok.

 

Got straight up there, loaded trailer up. Met the lady of the house on the way out of the drive, she appologised and said she wasnt getting involved in a jokey way. I bet he is getting a mouthful this evening from her!! Took the load 3 minutes down the road to a new customer who was over the moon with the logs

 

Im glad I went and collected them and I'm glad I did it in a calm fashion, ok so it was 30mins extra mesing around this morning but in the grand scheme of things I can close the chapter now happier then when I was this time last night.

Or you could go back, collect all but a few logs, give him his money back. That would let him know just what he's missing.......
