just to throw a spanner in the works, are you now aware that any vehicle trailer combination with a gvw over 3500kgs now requires a tacho to be fitted if used for hire or reward, and VOSA are prosecuting along with the old bill !

Make surer you check the plate on your truck, friend went to buy a tipper recently to find it was only plated to 3 tonne.

 

So check GVW, GTW and also worth looking into the 30 mile ruling - if you operate with a trailer within 30 miles of yard then no tacho needed?

I was on a job the other day we had two 7.5 tonners and we still struggled to fit all of the days load in. Makes me wonder how people can tolerate just using transits or landys:confused1:

 

It is easy you plan your jobs so you have the closest possible tip site. I've just changed from an LDV to a 110 tipper and not noticed the difference in terms of planning for tip sites.
