Do you know what..... Why the hell not.... Lets get one going like a right stinker.

Might need to find a company that can make a hardened piston and rod to put up with the stress of it tho.

Rekon it could be a winner...:thumbup::thumbup: :001_cool:

Here is a typical MS200T that I get in for repair, missing AV, not running, no recoil rope or handle, no bolts holding the cover on, filthy dirty, rusted up clutch........:001_rolleyes:

The first image is the before, the second and third are after - the saw has just been tached and runs and idles perfectly, nice job, good cost effective way of getting a damn good backup saw!

Done one before, getting the spring back in is a bit of a mare, safety glasses and a big screwdriver is the norm!

Cheers Spud, heard you could do it with a big pair of pliers, just sounds like they can be a bit of a sod at times. Think I will hold off til ive got the saw on this one. If anything else in there is missing or broken prob just as easy to get a replacement cover, and if its just a broken brake band will just replace it. Just seem a bit steep at £12 when the 372 is only £8.

From memory, you push the spring on to the plastic spigot on the action end, make sure the brake is in the "on" position, you then need to get the screw driver in to the bit where the spring usually sits and then push and prod the spring in to position which generally leaves the spring bent up a bit and finally push it in to place and screw on the cover quickly.

You then need to disengage the brake either using a purpose made tool or by using the brake handle by pushing the side cover in to position - removing the sprocket and clutch makes this easier as the cover will push in to normal position this way! Make sure the brake handle and the side cover are fully engaged otherwise the mechanism will slip and damage the brake handle where it engages with the side cover.

Cheers Spud. I guess if the worst comes ive always got my own 357 I can have a quick look at but by all accounts the bands broken so not really sure what to expect or if anythings are missing in there. Makes sense what you say to do tho.

I think /feel it could be more than meets the eye on this one as a broken lug on the brake handle was mentioned and now you've just said that....
