5 Pulls and then checked again with 10 pulls both full throttle 100psi both. Taskmaster compression tester.

 

I would suspect that your compression tester is for car use only and not be suitable for small bore engines. Have you a good working saw with good compression that you can measure and compare the compression?

has anyone a decent diagram for an 070? Got one in a box and ordered up a new piston, gasket set, fuel pipes and filter, seals etc but am having a bit of trouble assembling the bottom end, seems there may be a few smalls missing, odd screw and washer/spacer. I have an exploded view diagram but its not very clear, I need to know the order everything slides onto the flywheel side of the crank and how the flywheel, points, etc fit together. building a jigsaw without the picture isn't easy, any help would be great

If it pulls 150 - 160, you have problems with your trimmer, if it pulls the same 100, you don't!

 

So rather then test 385xp compression tested the replacement tanaka 230 reading was 120 psi. So it turns out not as low as reading ( 100psi ) but still lowish.
