chainsaw bow saw...... why???

Hi

 

whilst avoiding paperwork this morning i found this on you tube:-

Now can someone please tell me why u'd use one of these? I can't get my head around it at all and i've watched several video's but can't see the point. :confused1::confused1:

see i knew this place would have the answer!!! :thumbup: Can see the logic, guess it's really been superseeded by timber harvesters on machines!

 

Does anyone here use one?

I remember seeing them in the old Oregon literature of late 70s early 80s. Called pulpwood saws and I think used for cutting pulpwood in the stack.
