There's a little known British company called PHD that make some of the finest down kit around. Peter Hutchinson co-founded Mountain Equipment back in the 60's then set up his own company.

I know only too well that down and water do not mix, but an ortleib drysac shuold protect it in the canoe.

Ive got this one and have no complaints at all. comes in a dry bag and the material is water resistant too which helps with it being down. packs down tiny and lofts really quickly.

if your still lookin for a sleeping bag then you could try a Cumulus bag, perhaps the MT650 or Prime 550. Top quality Polish down and Pertex fabrics throughout.

Buffalo 4S fibrepile bags are worth considering for damp conditions.

Another vote for Cumulus down bags. I've got the bizarrely named 'Mysterious Traveller' and it's the only sleeping bag I've ever been really warm in. I bought a waterproof compression sack for it and it packs down really small which comes in handy for backpacking and motorbike trips.

I bought one of these for a craic - but its actually really good, just like a romper suit but for adults - result

 

the only downside is you do look a bit of a tit if you decide to pop down to shops without taking it off - DAMHIKT

'down is crap when it's wet!'...that just brought back a few cold, soggy memories of '58 pattern and no bivvy bag or basha!..brrrrrrr
