Dave, that was a very thoughtful and considerate question. Thank you.

 

I would agree with the other contributors that any risk to road users is minimal. The real 'killer' on the road for motorcyclists in particular is the build up of diesel oil at junctions, bus-stops and the like.

I think that the amount of diesel dumped on roundabouts by overfilling truck drivers is a far greater issue - used to ride bikes many moons ago and even a slight whiff of diesel or a dark patch on an apex would be enough to make me back off and straighten the bike up!

 

I cant see a little bit of oil would be an issue unless you are working over a hairpin bend for a long long time!

I know its an old thread, but i'm working on a road bend shortly. Traffic lights job (40mph legal limit). does anyone else take into account chainsaw chain oil getting on the road whilst cutting or am I still a bit OCD? bikers uphere are a bit wild
