I'v just been looking on F R Jones site for a new chainsaw helmet and as i only use a saw rarely, whilst doing firewood i only want something basic, so i was looking at 'the Stihl aero light' but it says on the website 'due to sthils online sales policy' we will check if you are a 'known or professional customer'. Does this mean i can't buy this helmet as i have no formal training ?, i could understand if i was trying to buy i chainsaw online that i would need checking out. But for an helmet!!!!

That does seem a bit extreme for buying a helmet. If its just firewood you are doing why not just get ear muffs and safety glasses? you dont need a helmet if there is no chance of falling objects.

i think this stands for all stihl items on the fr jones site, not just the helmets!

there are a few other sites that will not post any stihl items due to online sales policy, they like customer hand over:blushing:

if you want a good ground helmet the husky one is about the best:thumbup:

It stands for any Stihl product. Recently FR Jones refused to sell me bio chain oil over the phone unless I sent proof of my professional qualifications.

Slightly annoying at the time as I was desperate (my fault:thumbdown:) but it demonstrates that FR are being diligent and professional.:thumbup1:

i always wear a helmet after seeing a pic of the affects kickback had on one by someone on here and would not like that to happen to my head
