Lady rang for a 'load' of logs, new customer. She lives just a couple hundred yards from the BIG local supplier but 3 miles from me. "your logs are cheaper" she said.

Me, trying to talk myself out of a sale says "but his truck is bigger, you'll get more logs for your money"

"huh?" she says.

I explained about his 2m3 capacity & my 1.4m3. From him she'd get 35% more logs for just an extra £20.

Long pause, then:

"but you're still cheaper so I'd like yours please".

But your logs are top quality and dry so give out twice the heat which is cheaper than the soggy willow she got from the other place.

i am up against a local seller who sells a load or a double load, no mention of volume or how many cube in his load, i asked a friend to ask how many cube you get in a load and his reply written on the back of a business card is 4 tonney bags , surely this must be trade description as his "load" is half his truck with a board across the middle and his double load is the full truck load a renault tipper.
