I made a couple up last night as we were hosting a bbq and everywhere was well impressed. I'm not a tree surgeon, so was nice getting one over my mate who is - he'd never heard of Swedish Candles before :) I bet he is in his yard early this morning knocking a few up!!

Will post some pics later

Aberdyfi beach last weekend.

Got a fair bit of interest.

Had trouble getting first couple lit because of strong breeze - in the end a small splash of accelerant did the trick!

First 3 are from bbq last friday, every one loved the candles, bugger to get going though as there was no breeze at all.

2nd pics are night after, re lit one and had a quiet beer :)

WFWALEs that looks perfect mate :)

Thx Bud! - sparked off another last night and used previous stumps as stools - happy days.

Nice work yourself too!

Cheers

I made one of these tonight out of oak. We're having a barbecue on Monday so I have it in the cupboard above the boiler to dry out quicker but it was already dead anyway. It was a bit of a bugger to cut the first slice but the next one was easy.

Any tips on how to get it lit? Apart from petrol!
