Bit of a quandry??????????????

And at the end of the day, its your conscience. I'd look at things from the other side, ie if the boot was on the other foot, and make that call.

Honestly, if the boot ws on the other foot, I would be reflective, at the end of the day business is business, I would appreciate the call but wouldn't, by the same token appreciate have my nose rubbed in it.

I think it's tricky, if I cared less and could say "sod it, his loss" etc. etc. things would be a lot easier. Am I being a bit too sensitive???????????

Normally when someone doesn't ring the same person who has done the job before and rings round other, it's because they are not happy with the standard of work.

It wouldn't be that because as I said it was me and my ex-collegues who did the work and we are all very professional so I can vouch for that.....more likely along the lines of cost.

You'd think so wouldnt you? !!! <><><><

Yes, you never know. Sometimes people surprise you- perhaps something good will come of one little call.

If he had not thought about it it would not matter; that he's considering it means that he cares a bit. The world can always do with a few more people who care a little.

IMO the only reason you need to ring him is to tell that it's a coincidence that they have rung you.

If you don't he may think you were handing out YOUR business card to HIS customers on HIS jobs.

You should not ring to apologise for getting the job, just to give him the facts' so he does not get the wrong end of the stick, if it were me I would appreciate the call.

No such thing as "a patch" in this game, lol, we ain't drug dealers!

Sorry Sky huck should have perhaps spelt it out in black in white that the people I was refering to are very good friends not just aquaintences. Therefore we do things as we do out of good manners I'm not saying everyone has to do it that way.

As to patches certainly round here in the more rural parts there are contractors associated with various patches

Or maybe the customer is a bad payer and too embarrassed to call the original company! maybe welwell's old boss had to chase for the money! and maybe welwell's old boss is pleased he never got the job...:sneaky2:
