The guy from LOLER a company demoing (guy cut through his rope too!) lol was asked which bollar/winch HE would have and he said until recently X but now THIS.

why you ask Huck?

That board looks cool. Watch out who you take advise from through. I didn't go to the arbshow so not sure what company your boss spoke to. I used a national loler company to inspect my kit a year or 2 back and had kit damaged, stolen and serial numbers changed without a record kept it the original .numbers so I bad no idea of the length of time some kit had been used. On top of this had to listen to a whole load of other crap that if have rather not listen too. Sometimes its best to draw your own conclusions rather than take it from an "expert".

I've been using one for about a Month. Its back in its box and is staying there.

That is a pretty strong statement, can you elaborate please Mike?

Mike Hill, please elaborate on this.

Steve Ibelings winch looks the biz. I wonder if the back plate is tall enough, bearing in mind that only the winch handle is supplied to tension the mounting strap and it doesn't have a Visor like the GRCS.

However, I spoke with Steve Ibelings last week and he said the winch is 2445euros (I think) so it's cheaper than the GRCS.

Steve said they're getting it CE rated.

If it only need the winch handle to tension the strap, I see that as good.

Also, it is a much simpler design than the GRCS with hardly any parts. I see that as a very good thing. I'm not criticising the GRCS in any way though.

Anyway Mike Hill, where do you live. I ask because the Ibelings is not CE stamped so I guess you're not in the UK.

To qualify your hard statement, it would be very useful for us all to know what device you're comparing the Ibelings to.
