new bollard/winch for rigging?

Recommended Posts

There is going to be a new rigging block out soon, £2500 worth mind, has anyone seen it or know of it, or have any info at all on it?

I seem to remember something mentioned some time ago, being based on a ships winch, has a 45 to 1 ratio one way and a 12 to 1 the other i think.

any info guys?

Where did you here it was going to be sold from? I looked into buying one of Stevens bollards but there is nowhere that sells it in the UK! It has the same Harken 46 winch as my GRCS.

When I e-mailed Steven the price is cheaper than a GRCS.

Looks a good piece of kit!

The fixed bollard runs around the outside, seperate to the winch bollard, no snatch on winch mechanics.

the winch has a double ratio

it is the latest and best design avaliable.

IF its the one that was spoken of at the show to my boss, it comes with a days training hence the price.

The guy from LOLER a company demoing (guy cut through his rope too!) lol was asked which bollar/winch HE would have and he said until recently X but now THIS.

why you ask Huck?

I thought the same as you regarding the bollard and winch both on at the same time and the ability (with practice) to move smoothly from one to the other.

But those with far more experience than me with these things, seemed to think the back plate was too small and it was generally a little too light weight.

As with all these things, time will tell, if its good it will sell!!!
