I dont know if its been mentioned but the reason a lot of people work in the public sector is because of job security and good pensions.

Take that away and you will find the better skilled people will move into the private sector where they can achieve higher pay and bonus etc.

If what we want is lower skilled workers educating our children and looking after our health then this government is just the ticket.:thumbup1:

Well said that man. Also public sector workers have been renowned to have been paid less than the private sector on the grounds that you would get a decent pension at the end of your service.

Come on :001_rolleyes: their pension is still good (way better than anything I can get in the private sector) its just not "Gold plated" as it used to be.

We have lived though a period of previously unknown wealth and prosperity, it was unsustainable and has ended, its time for us all to get back to reality and accept life is harder than we had hoped, but we still have things easier than most of the world.

The pension is declining which is the point of my post. They will look for better options, who wouldnt!

You can get a better pension just put more income into to it.

Just out of interest do you know to get a good pension we should put 1/3 of our wages into a pension!

Total myth!!!!

Not from what I hear ie family who work in the NHS, education and civil service.

Pay is always better in the private sector its just you have to chase it more and take higher risks.

Just look at LA climbers wages compared to that of free lance or employed private staff.

I would be annoyed if I was them.

I still think me and Bolam should start a picket line for arbs though.
