Climber or Arborist?

probably not a huge amount of point to this poll other than my curiosity, but what do you primarily consider yourself to be, a tree climber, or an arborist?

Defo an arborist. Otherwise you might as well be a remote controlled chainsaw.

I would proscibe the term to describe the majority of us here, as Arborists.

Would think at this time in your career Steve, you would fill the spec of a "Professional Climbing Aborist"

Most definetly an arborist, theres more to tree work than climbing as we all know. we do more than climb, advise,plant,care for ecte. i wonder if the exppression tree surgeon is right sometimes? the amount of times your asked what an arborist is?

If I could not climb I'd be looking for other work.

 

I'm afraid the part of the job I enjoy the most is large take downs, so if I said arborist first, before climber, that would be like a surgeon saying he enjoyed autopsies more than saving lives! sorry:blushing:

To joe soap, I'm a tree surgeon. In my head I'm an Arboriculturalist / Logger.

Arborist is cool though.
