how do i stand

right, to cut a long story short, ive been looking after 2 sites (residential care homes) all of a sudden the md is dissapointed with the grounds,ive worked for him for 8 years and my standards have never slipped, in my opinion the grounds just get better and better every year, with me adding more flower beds etc, i think that he is trying to get me out for some reason,i charge 12 quid an hour and visit the sites no less than 50 times a year( the bigger of the 2 , twice a week in the growing season) just need to know where i stand as regards to if he can just out me for no reason other than that he might possibly get it done cheaper

Its a real pi..er when that happens,not sure where you stand,but the principle alone,aint right,id go back with a couple gallon of glypho,and nuke the place or you could try citizens advice good luck.

In the past I have had clients do the same thing. If you were here in the states and this happen that's the way it go's. Even when I had contracts with the client and I asked if there was any reason for discontinuing services usually no reason was given. Don't take it personally . It's just business. Move on to your next client.

Unless you have a contract with him there is nothing you can do, money is tight for some and loyalty goes out the window, but its his site and he can get who he wants to look after it.

I would try and get clarification as to what he is not happy about, then offer to rectify it, if he is still not interested he wants you out, there is no point in getting bitter and twisted, shake his hand and tell him it was a pleasure doing business and move on, that way you are not burning the bridge and may get it back at a later date.

for £12 / hour i wouldnt be worrying to be honest. if you want to work that cheap then you wont be short of work.
