There is always lots of talk here about what price to charge for firewood, but how about getting paid for it?

Do you firewood merchants find it hard to get money out of some people?

Do you take cheques?

Do you ask for payment before you 'tip'?

Cash or cheque, and i play where's the money. A number of customers like to hide the money, and then give me very vague discription of its location. The longest search so far 25 minutes !

up until now touch wood never had a problem with payment (now i have jinxed it)

Cash only for me now, had a couple of cheques bounce in the past and if there is one thing that gets my blood pressure up it's a bounced cheque.

Did they sort it??

I had one bounce last year, but it was just an error and they were very apologetic.

Cash or cheque for me, I to had a rubber cheque, they paid out of the wrong account and sorted it the next day, I had a hotel order wood and o told them cash or cheque on delivery to which they agreed, when I had tipped I took the invoice in to get payment only to be told the cheque book missing! I couldn't believe it, it then took me 4 weeks to get payment, a week after being paid they rang for more logs, I told em where to go!

I would have just told them cash before you tip this time. No point missing a sale
