Colder than a witches tit here Jon, Stove full of lovely Ash i dropped a few weeks ago….,had sleet hail rain sun….. be lit for another month i'd say!

Getting colder up here jon...but dry...off to the Pennines to a little cottage up in the hills tommorow night with my girlfriend..it has a open fire and will be the first log fire I will have made in many years...looking forward to it! Got some seasoned beech for it.

Hi Jon,hope your lives are nearly back to normal after those horrendous floods.

Fires been blasting out all night here and it was warm this morning but temps dropping now and oh yes it's raining harder now

Had the gas bill today.... £793 for 3 months. Can't afford it anymore :(

The boiler is turned off now and the fire is lit, but that only heats one room.

We rent the house and it has an old non-condensing boiler, virtually no loft insulation and single glazing upstairs.

Our money/ energy is pouring outside into the environment & the government aren't making landlords upgrade THEIR houses to even a half decent standard.

 

We pay the price :(

But they do have to give you an epc before you rent, a stove fan will push some heat out the room but you may be best moving to a warmer house . or ask the landlord to insulate the house, might be able to use the green deal .

my landlord did it with grants i think.

might be worth asking them.

know what you mean about one room though, oil is not cheep either:thumbdown:
