Alas the stove went on 2 nights ago, a load of Scots pine that has been in teh living room all summer went whoosh and turned the place into a tropical hothouse. It was nice to see the flames sending a cheery glow across the room and hear the jet-engine roar of a well-ventilated stove doing its thing again.

Ours went on as soon as it was installed in the new house (about 3 weeks ago). It's actually really chilly here overnight at the moment (and sometimes through the day, though it keeps flip flopping between mid teens and mid twenties).

Either way, layout of new house means heat dissipates better so I'm not completely cooking myself. That being said, it's usually too warm for trousers!
