Saw a group of 3 drakes and 1 hen running about on the lawn earlier today.

On my driveway at the weekend there were two drakes wrestling each other and the duck standing demurely in the middle of the road waiting for the winner. I could have walked over and picked up the boys they were so intent on fighting !

Not personal experience but here’s the tale

 

man takes two dogs for a walk on golf course

notices whippet in a struggle

runs over 

its scrapping with an otter 

wish I saw that 

also one spotted eating a dead badger on the roadside

 it appears they are on a come back in Northumberland

Exuvia by the looks of them. The empty skin of a damselfly, dragonfly or similar, after it's changed from a nymph to a fly.

Saw a very relaxed deer on the walk tonight not far off the path.

 

 

And the OH found a little shrew hanging around in the sun on the patio today, she gave it some strawberry and popped it into a hole in the stone wall but it must have been poorly, no longer with us.
