This was part of my point i have been very well looked after in my purchase of my first chipper TW.

My experience of TW has been pretty good. They bent over backwards to help me out, and that was with a second hand model.

Pretty much any machine is nothing without decent backup.

I'm interested in Steve's comment about biased opinions from us shopkeepers.

How would you, the buyer, feel if whilst having a demo of a machine had the rep slag of his opposition rather than put forwards the usp's of his machine and the benefits of buying it from him and his company?

Would you;

a. not buy that product.

b. tell him that his sales technique needs working on.

c. listen and believe him.

I believe good company does not need to slag another off only show reasons why to buy from them. It would be a weak attempt to put someone off another competitor.

How ever if another competitor is poo word will get around quick any way.

After sales service is what i like.

a + b

like was said, a good product sells itself without having to rubbish another company or their product.

I did, fairly early on too. I've been in chipper sales for about 8 years - previous to that I owned three of them. But I try not to be too pious - people chose their kit for many reasons and I try to respect that. I try not to openly deride other makes when threads do (see TW blade bolts thread, no post from me). Life is too short to get upset over choices.
