How to stop ticks!!??

you probaly guessed already but just asking if theres are any sprays that deter ticks?????

 

First day on site and saw loads of deer running through the woods and thought to myself oh no! spent all day cutting and got home to find one :confused1:

 

Any help?

Use the little device thats readily available, cant remember the name of it, think its tom something? Simply slide the forks under the tick, lever and twist. Pulling ticks off or coating them can lead to infection has the head can snap of or the tick will secrete toxins whilst dying.

i was reading that the head getting left in, is not necessarily a problem, and is much like a tiny splinter, but that it is the contents of the stomach and two glands behind the front legs that contain the pathogen which are the real danger, both of which are usually secreted around 24hrs after attachment.

 

If that's true, it would certainly seem that the order of the day is to remove asap in one way or another

agreed on the DEET, not pleasant stuff mind! Most of the methods I've heard to remove them don't assume you have a healthy lifestyle - cigarettes & strong liquor seem to be the answer (either burn off, or pour strong alchohol over it to make it release it's grip)
