what would you pay someone for day rate for forestry work

yh its my first job in forestry been doing it jus over two months but i feel i earn more than £50, done mostly hard wood coppice sites and problay cut anywhere now from 8 tons and my best being probaly 11 so far, surley day rate should be simalar to what i do on piece rate, ive done mostly piece rate so far but latley hes stuck me on day rate with him

mate i get £50 with no tickets draging brash out of back gardens and raking up, you need to speak to your governor

He is quids in then. I think the going rate for a cutter on a hardwood coppice is £11 a ton. Talk to him about it you obviously know something isnt right so get it sorted.

i work for £40 a day normally, forestry work with my own saw, ppe and other kit/tools, but im a student and i ent fussed really i just want the experience

I spent two years earning alot less than that theres no harm in asking for a rise or just asking to go on a tonnage or peice rate. Dont get assey if he says no just ask why and keep learning and proving and as woodpicker says again when you think its right to.

I'd ask for a bit more. Filling the combi cans up aint cheap anymore neither is driving to site. If you're doing 8-11 tonne a day then your cutting very well.
