the smaller mogs, U900/404 are almost as good as the later square cabs, just a bit tight in the cab, they make good tow wagons, as long as your not in a hurry, try looking for the auto ones, specifically designed for towing, they pop up now and again,

What do you guys think of the u100l any good or not they look very handy 4x4 truck that can tow

how longs a piece of string Jon, age, spec, maintanence record, etc, as with any mog, there is no hard and fast guidline.

 

U100L, a glorified sprinter built for councils who didnt actually need a mog, but thought it would look good in the yard, they look good, but dont do anything very well, underpowered and cheaply built

its not a U1000, so it could be a U1200, or a U1500, ( narrow axles and mudgaurds give it away), so 7.5t GVW, so as long as it agg registered, a 10t trailer will be no problem.

I'm with mendiplogs on the crane size though, king post and first arm suggest arround a max of 3t lift, maybe a bit less depending on how its piped, ( most cranes run a wp of around 300bar, the mogs own systen is 200bar, so you loose a third of your lift capability, unless your running a dedicated pump system, usually a pump driven off the back of the gearbox input shaft, check your data sheet for N16) it is possible to get the origonal build spec for every mog built from the chassis no, Ian at a quick guess, I'd say your one starts 424

 

The wings on a U1000 are no different to the other square cabs, the bonnets were different on the older ones, but later ones have the standard bonnet.

Nice one Ian, looks a handy unit. MY u900 is still for sale for anyone that needs a mog. unfortunately my business does not need a mog anymore.

I had a feeling that the answer was going to be somthing like that!i keep looking at the 4x4 dafs ex army trucks I didn't want to go back to full blown mog set up just thort the u100 mite of been worth a look

I know ive been looking on that agri affairs I have a mate who is working on that security fencing around the port in France to keep them imagrentas out so he would go and look for me
