Emergency services press/magazine

I received a call from a company calling themselves the emergency services press/excel publishing offering me a full page in their magazine which also highlighted current fire police and ambulance service priorities/events for £195, claiming they send out 80,000 copies every 3 mo the in my area. I let them email me some info and i have been invoiced. I think it's a scam, i havnt signed anything or given any details so I'm not too worried, but wondered has anyone else been taken down a similar road?

Yes it's a scam, have heard it mentioned loads of times on various forums

 

They called me once saying I had signed up to something or the other, I just told them I knew it was a scam and hung up

keep way, If you do you will have three to five calls a week about new

ads, it took be two years to get all phone calls stopped to home and mobile.

Its a well known scam. Avoid obviously!

Called me last week cheeky rep said I had booked in November and he just wanted my address and bank details. As if.....

Just tell them you never agree anything over the phone and will only deal face to face.
