Right as for class :

Class 1 protection genrally Type A"s

Class 1,2,3 You will find in Type C

As Les says CLASS 3 is far to thick and clumpy to work in

Brace buttons that have the strength to last more than 2 months. Elasticated leg-end so it doesn't drag through the mud, shorter legs by two inches or so so they are off the floor.

i recently tried some chainsaw trousers with elasticated leg ends...all they did was ride up above my boots, leaving my boots to get full of sawdust....they got the snip very quickly

sick of the wife playing hell with me when a pile of sawdust falls out all over the bedroom floor.

 

currently got 2 pairs of hiflex and one pair of husky type c's at the menders.

 

every pair of stihls i've ever owned has let go in the zip area within months of having them.

 

also i seem to wear out the front of my left thigh fairly quickly. ?????????

Hiflex are made with schoeller, if it withstands more tearing why do most wearers end up looking like tea bags ?

 

Because they are not very good?

 

Actually I have a picture of my friends bloody knee after a MS200t chain went straight through a pair of HiFlex and that was on a chain slow down.

I think the people that produce chainsaw trousers and jackets should be forced to wear them and walk up and down a mountain all week with a chainsaw and fuel/oil can. Then we might have some lightweight/waterproof/durable/ ones that do not rip in the groin area on climbing the first tree and soak chain oil into the materials.

 

Legs/arms/chest are protected but no material in the vital groin area!! Why??
