if it wasnt able to hold you, why would you be using it?

 

just lay off the cakes and pasties and you wont need to worry as much!

 

i wish you hadn't said that. i sat on a customers garden chair the other day and went straight through it :001_huh:

Id put that down to a weak chair, being out in the sun would have weakened the plastic :biggrin:

 

Its happened to me too! but i was leaning back on a plastic garden chair, off came the back legs! laughter ensued.

Mate i would be alot more worried about the branch/tree u are tied into! ropeguides and other rated gear are rated for a reason. i reckon ur body would fail well before a rope guide did. U get used to it! higher the better:)

Its true though, I have some traditional webbing slings about an inch wide, rated at 24Kn that I happily use as re directs or anchor points, but the newer spectra and/or dyneema slings that are 10mm wide but still rated at 24kn dont give me nearly the same amount of confidence.

 

Ultimatly though youhave to look at the ratings, and obviously the condition, and just go with it.
