A friend wanted to mothball a chipper and some saws with a national self-storage outfit while he went traveling, the owners wanted all fuels draining, could be a problem in daily use.

I now someone who rents a farm building as John k suggested it's cheap enough I think and he alarmed the building up himself and put a steel container in there for extra protection. He doesn't have time for logs etc so the farmer gets them which may be part of the deal. Some farmers often have a spare building making no money and love free logs and chip:) but I suppose them self storage places may have the benefit of security guards?

storage containers may be bomb proof but certainly arn't pickey proof

i know someone in horley who runs a self storage wherehouse which is in the middle of town so plenty of people to keep watch and someone near dorking who has a whole farm turned into self storage which is very secure as most the units are purpose buiilt

if either are of interest pm me and give you there number

An 8x10ft container will only set you back £1450 including delivery. Find a place to put it or slide it in a farm shed. Bomb proof.

Blimey! My 40foot shipping container was £600 delivered! That was 15 years ago but inflation ain't that bad surely.
