Mine was an X reg with the old NA 2.5 transit deisel, that may have been 70hp come to think of it? I don't know. I had a few engine problems, but it was a transit engine anyway so could easily have happened with a transit too.

If I was in your shoes I'd get one.

Picked up an X reg XLWB doublecab with ally dropside and tailift for £1300 recently. Older Transit turbo engine- pulls like a train due to having the lower geared diff. Hauls 2.5 tons of digger and trailer no problem.

You get miles more for your money than the equivalent priced Transit- and much less rust! Would recommend that you look for a turbo one though- I only ever go about ten miles from base and even then I wouldn't like to imagine life without the turbo.

Cab build quality is shoddy, but you're looking for a work truck not a limo. Bodies were often third party jobs and there are some really nice ones out there.
