I've had tinnitus since the age of 24, (now 46). Was told to get a 'quiet civilian occupation'....sadly, there were no jobs going at the library :blushing:

I've got used to it, but it drives everyone else around me mental!:001_tt2:

you can understand why people in the dark ages were thought to be mad as when you have it it can drive you bonkers sometimes lol

Yes I have it too, since about 5 years. I am 48 now. The cause : wind turbulance noise when riding motorcycles. I am using custom made earplugs now, but I guess it is too late.

Most of the time i can ignore it but occassionaly it does my head in, high pitched squeeling! Didn't know ear wax could cause it though. Could do with my lugs syringing i reckon!

Joking aside Woody, syringing is a massive relief sometimes - I honestly thought I was going properly deaf before I had mine done.

 

Suffer mildly, result of shooting without decent muffs and listening to live metal bands in the '80's.

 

Still drive past young lads using Jacks etc. without muffs nearly every day.

i get it occasionally, high pitch whine, slight and short deafness, tends to be anytime of the day not just night, i suffered with my ears as a kid, constant ear infections, and as soon as i get a cold now i go deaf:thumbdown:

 

the tinnitus, although not nice, i can cope with
