Lovely stuff.

 

When you make the cut on the top section do you step cut of just cut through as the crane lifts?

 

Ive never used a crane before and i always wonder about how the climber knows how the but end is going to react when its cut. By this I mean the butt end of the tree.....:lol:

 

Is there training in using a crane?

I did a two day practical crane dismantling course in Oslo, Norway last September with Mark Chisholm (World Champ) instructing. It was a brilliant two days, i learned a hell of alot. He taught to cut straight through every time! I hear of others doing it differently though. Interesting course though if anyone ever gets the chance to do it.
