I had the older bandit 60 with a single feed roller, it didn’t like huge bights of conifer but otherwise was faultless and built to last.

 

I saw a tracked, machine one in service with a LA. It was dire, fixed geometry tracks and a weedy 2 cylinder motor specked by the bean counters to save a few quid.

Looks a bit "vintage" mind, but some people even appreciate it's longevity & ease of fixing.

 

Yeah proper bombproof they are, & only ever clogged up on conifer in the pouring rain.

Hy Woodpicker have you had a tunnisenn before or do you just not like them. I mean a little more info would help me make a better choice. When spending 18k you need a to informed.

The best advice I would give when buying a chipper is to choose the brand whose dealer has the highest spare parts stock as waiting 3weeks for a part will cripple you and is unacceptable.

I also found 'Arbrep Services' and Charles is a mechanical genius at fixing machinery properly and fast.

Bandits are awesome, and i looked at them a lot when buying a new chipper, the pile of chip and the deadwood issue put me off. I ended up with the Vermeer BC200 which is a great machine. Its worth a look and again bomb proof in construction.

Well I think I am going to buy one I hope I am not going to wish I had gone for the Tunnissen.

 

Chalk and cheese mate! I've used a Tunnissen 190 quite a lot; not a quality machine - nothing exemplary about it all, especially the chip spray - might as go sideways! the claimed 37hp doesn't feel like it; more like 25. I too contemplated buying one a while back and am glad I didn't.
