i would just do the trial day as its shows your willing to prove yourself to your new employer, and that your both happy with the working arrangements.

my wife did a trial shift at sainsburys a few years ago and dident get payed for it but she realised she dident want to work there either. so she was glad she did it as a trial.

Any one had experience of being asked to work a trial day and not being paid for it. i was offered the job ,any ideas on legality and how this unscrupulus contractor can be stopped?:confused1:

I think it would be fairer if the company at least paid you what they thought you had earned for the trial day even if it only covered your exspencies. But if you need the job go and show them what you can do, and hopefully you,ll get it. All the best. EGG

Trying to understand your statement. can you clarify....did you agree to do the free days trial and were subsequently offered the job?

From my personal experience Ive never been paid on trial days- as its so hard to get jobs at the moment I think you should go for it and give 100% and you will get the job and what ever the company thinks your worth.
