January 2011 prices across the country please ?

£75- a load (1.2 cubic metres) seasoned mixed hardwood E Sussex.

£30 per quarter cube of hardwood, if they want softwood its the same price.

£70 per cube here in reading/berkshire,,,,but maybe more next winter if fuel prices keep rocketing.....

£60 for 800x800x800 bag £90 for 900x900x900, nice seasoned oak

£45 for a dumpy bag delivered within 15 miles. Mixed ash, sycamore, beech and laburnum.

 

£3 each for a net bag of the same.

That's really interesting feedback, cheers guys ! With the cost of fossil fuels spiralling I'm surprised to see what a buyers market the firewood industry seems to be ? Too many people selling logs maybe ? No wonder folk are falling over themselves to fit woodburners. For a few years down here a good load of logs seems to have been priced at around £120 (£65m3), some less, some more but in general terms not really gone up in price ? In that time heating fuel has gone from maybe 35p to 70p ! Why is that ?

every year we see lots of new 'firewood suppliers' it is an easy earner after all !!!!! im probably in the higher price range, logging is hard graft, you need a yard of somesort , etc,etc, it has to be treated as a business..... or a tax loss!!!!!!! i dont mind if i dont sell all mine this year, i wont have to split so much to get next years stock ready!!!!!
