So basically it isnt costing him anything but you have to pay out of your share for fuel, running costs wear and tear and so on.....

 

Think you need to explain to him how much it is going to cost you to process it then try another % split figure.

tell him to do one mate the deals I have with farmers are we provide a coppicing servive and in return we keep allof the wood we cut as payment.:thumbup:

 

This sounds like a better idea even then it needs some decent trees and good access. Maybe you could supply 4 cu metres of logs for his own use. Then he will feel like he is getting something out of it.

Bear in mind you'll have to do all the splitting next year and sell for next season as there's no way that wood will be burning this year.

 

In the meantime where will you store it etc. ?

 

Making something out of it i.e. posts and rails - great but you then need to sell it to someone...

 

I'd be careful about venturing into something like this. Or at least re negotiate terms.

 

Also he must be very trusting - how will he know how many loads you've sold and how much you're getting for it?
