I said potentially dangerous ..........

...... But I'd have thought any insurance firm would be more likely to pay out if everything was to 'the book'

Everything we do is potentially dangerous !

This is the reason I strated the thread, I think "the book" needs a little rewriting :001_smile:

you dont stand a chance if it kicks back.thats why its ridiculous to teach such techniques.

So a very strong 16 stone man cannot have in one arm the same strength as a 7 stone women???

So following your argument, some lady arbs should not be allowed to use an 020 two handed, let alone a bigger saw.

cut and chuck can never be performed safely.the use of a chainsaw one handed is dangerous as you are not in full control of it.you dont stand a chance if it kicks back.thats why its ridiculous to teach such techniques.

That's exactly why teaching is proposed ??

You shouldn't be in a position to "stand no chance" if a saw kicks back.

Don't hold the saw in a position/angle so when it kicks back it will hit you it's the same wether using one or two hands mate. I see work poitioning not just where you are in relation to the tree but where the saw is in relation to you too. It's common sense you can't teach common sense though.

nearly everyone I know whose been cut with a saw over the last 16 years, has been cut by an 020AV/020T/MS200T, cutting one handed and usually cutting and holding. I avoid it like the plague...until I get in a Leylandii hedge

Looks like the husky top handle is pretty safe then :001_tt2: had to say it for those that dislike them
