Ok, right then.

You would happily walk along a kerb knowing that you wont fall off and the ground wont collapse. Would you do the same at the edge of the grand canyon?

Its not always what will happen (well what we 'think' will happen) but what could happen.

The tree could fall over tomorrow with no wind and no leaves. It does happen, prob more often than we realise.

I do understand about what you say about mind over matter. And I do think that trees rarely fail.

The problem with a thread like this is, if you say "yes" every one says well done and pats you are back and says "well done for being being so honest".

If your honest and say "no" every one thinks your a lier.

Aah right.

Well if Grandad would have gone out to the tips when a climber like Gibbon wouldn't it must be alright....

no it isnt, i personally wouldnt, but what i am saying is there are some people who are nuts and thrive off of getting taking the most dangerous risks possible, i wouldnt say that the person in question is a good climber (having cut himself twice once loosing 4 pints) but he will do anything irresponsible of the risk, its not a healthy attitude i know, but i do have a sense of admiration for his guts. (And of course ill stand up for my own flesh and blood:thumbup:)

How true . I really think its a frame of mind thing . I do believe that if you have a can do attitude you will overcome anything . Fair enough if the tree is in a dangerous condition you may have to implement another plan . But most trees are doable

That's 'cos you bottled giving a straight answer!

thats because tree surgeons are masculin, egotistical, testosterone filled, adrenaline junkies who need therapy and should have paid attention at school.

p.s (i dont mean to offend any1, its just a lighthearted quip:thumbup:)
