Leaky landy??

Hi guys

 

I'm after some advise as to what is going on with my defender??

 

every morning since this cold spell i come to it in the morning and there's a puddle of water under the engine?? i check the levels and nowt has changed but it only happens in the morning. i check under where ever i go and there's nothing all day! i come out in the morning and again a puddle of water under the engine?? WHAT could it be?? it gets up to temp.. and runs fine ??? i'm confused.

when its this cold metal contracts/shrinks slightly and in your case lets water out, when the metal warms up it expands and the leak disappears, unfortunately i can't tell you which bit of metal it is thats leaking, try shining a torch up from underneath next time it happens to find where it is, it could be something cracked or just a joint that needs tightening or a new gasket. the squeal sounds like your fanbelt needs tightening, hope this helps.
